Drop Set Weight Training Program

What Are Drop Sets

Drop sets are performed by doing a set to failure on an exercise and then lowering the weight on the same exercise and doing another set to failure. For example, doing one arm db rows to failure with an 80 lb db, then picking up a 60 lb db and reaching failure again.

How To Do Drop Sets

A drop set is a set carried to momentary positive muscular failure followed by another set done with a 30-50% drop in weight immediately afterwards.

Using drop set is very similar to super sets. It involves taking a normal set even further. If you want, you can try to perform a double drop. This is the same as a regular drop set except after the first set, you lower the weight again and go to failure one more time.
